I suspect that’s the closest he’ll get to a Merc this year…

Quelle surprise…

Exactly as our (distinguished) engineers have predicted.

Magnussen with the Haas/Ferrari might look interesting to F1 managers from today.

Shhhhh

The Mercedes W08 - it’s got wings.

Meh, clearly a knockoff. Here is the real thing

Nah, that’s the Ferrari. Now with added frills.

Big nostrils for Red Bull.

So is the idea to give them so much downforce they will hardly have to slow down for the corners? What impact is that likely to have in the race?

It seems that way, and from what I’ve read, is likely to make racing very dull as the drivers are all reporting it’s very hard to follow a car closely, which makes overtaking even less likely.

They are supposed to look more spectacular by being harder to drive because of faster speeds through the corners. It’s what the public wanted.
The downside is braking distances will be shorter, meaning less overtaking. Also due to the nature of the aero, cars will find it more difficult to follow each other closely. So “start in 1st - finish in 1st”. Start in 7th - finish in 7th.

Getting the most (early) out of this seasons slow-warming tyres will be interesting.

Yeah, I’m not enthusiastic about actually watching this season.

Anyone getting the feeling that this season will be similar to last ??
