Count Shelly Sounds taken at the 4 Aces Club in Dalston Lane.

I started hanging around outside to hear the music in 1976 when I was 12 I was eventually let in when I was 14, I went regularly until I was about 17 when my parents relocated us to a “nicer” part of London as Hackney/Dalston was getting too edgy (about 1982). I went back 3 or 4 more times. I think it closed in the late 90’s and was demolished in 2007. There was a documentary about it a few years ago - here - http://www.legacyinthedust.net/home/4557975141 I’d love to see it…

That place, the reggae blues parties down the road, and the record shacks on Ridley Road market shaped my musical tastes…

It later become the Labyrinth Club, where the Prodigy made their first live performance
