Top notch! Two Waldron penned tracks form the basis for some lengthy collaborative improvisation. Waldron was summat of a master at creating new directions swirling out from repetitive ‘vamp’ themes/idioms. I tend to think of this as creative advanced post bop, more than true ‘free jazz’.
