[Archive] What are you listening to?

First impression: £22 for a two track 12" that plays at 45 rpm :scream:
Second impression: No download card: :rage:

As for the music, it is OK I suppose. Didn’t strike me as anything path breaking. It is what you would expect, krautrock beat, spacerock guitars, and vocals so low in the mix as to be almost inaudbile. No screaming wah-wah solos from J. Spaceman either.

Summary: Approaching M’eh.

CDR2F.

Ovoc. I wish I had bought the standard edition. This limited edition pressing is a bit noisy, to say the least.

Glad you’ve said that, I’m looking to buy a vinyl copy too.

On first listen it is an excellent LP. It is a poor pressing. I may well return it despite the implications for my vinyl enablers.

edit: BOLLOCKS! The d/l is MP3 only. That decides it then, this is to be returned.

My fave of theirs is still the first LP ‘Passover’.

Didn’t even know this was coming out.

That’s this evening’s listening sorted then. Cheers!

There is a tour upcoming too. I’m not sure I can make it to any of the dates though.:disappointed:

Well it’s different. I’ve not heard 60s organ sounds mixed with modern high-gain guitars before. The Crazy World of Arthur Brown meets Mastodon?

I’ve not had much time to listen recently but I am still working my way through the Wo Fat back catalogue, and I’ve not heard anything I haven’t liked yet. Crushin’ slabs o’ fuzz!

Another vinyl reissue for RSD. The version of ‘Straight to your heart’ on this LP is one of my favourite tracks of all time and was something I played regularly when I DJ’ed at University. My original copy is knackered as a result.

This is a good example of how to do a reissue. Great pressing and nicely reworked packaging.

Will be buying a copy of that - my copy is pretty worn too.
