The interview where Trump admitted his nuclear obsession…

What would be some of President Trump’s longer-term views of the future?

I think of the future, but I refuse to paint it. Anything can happen. But I often think of nuclear war.

Nuclear war?

I’ve always thought about the issue of nuclear war; It’s a very important element in my thought process. It’s the ultimate, the ultimate catastrophe, the biggest problem this world has, and nobody’s focusing on the nuts and bolts of it. It’s a little like sickness. People don’t believe they’re going to get sick until they do. Nobody wants to talk about it. I believe the greatest of all stupidities is people’s believing it will never happen, because everybody knows how destructive it will be, so nobody uses weapons. What bullshit.

So buses evacuating civilians from Syrian government held areas that are under siege by rebels get blown up by rebels resulting in the deaths of 170 people (including 70 children) Slightly awkward for the Donald as these rebels are the forces his more hawkish advisers are wanting to support against Assad. It’s difficult to imagine how much loathing (not to mention bombs) would be raining down on Assad’s forces had they been responsible for this atrocity. But the Donald (think of the baybeez) and even the Beeb are curiously reticent in their condemnation this time.

Not quite the story the BBC are carrying. Seem to be pointing the finger at Lebanese Shia Hezbollah.

I think they are suggesting that the besiegers were Shia Hezbollah & the Syrian army but that the towns under siege were Syrian government controlled. Seems somewhat contradictory. But no one is accusing the Syrian government of being behind this which rather suggests that it was one of the rebel groups. It wouldn’t be the first time.
