eBay stuff (Part 1)

I was looking at that the other day. This appealed more as it has extra faff, foo and stuff that will obviously be a pain in the hole when it breaks down:

Ugly as sin too which is almost the full house for turntable bingo…

Snipe anyone?

Have you ever heard a pair? Nice ribbon, shame about the rest.

I have just got an older Basis Debut Gold Standard and Basis have been great to deal with and they have helped me already with a 45 rpm pulley. The construction of the deck is great too. If I had the money I would seriously consider that one.

For that kind of money I could have the down payment on a Steepletone, or a modded Techie 1200…

Well when you put it that way…

I haven’t, always wanted to. I imagine that the bass unit struggles to go high enough for the ribbons or low enough. But I always fancied them. Also SD1s. Oh well.

In my local auction tomorrow in Warrington. For all you Tannoy fans.

I can pick it up Thurs if you want this junk

Never ever seen a full set of these for sale, shame about the missing knobs

Desperately seeking new speakers at the moment to be the basis of a new system, wondered if these seemed priced right? Some Impulse H6 on eBay too, but they have the original focal tweeters. Missed out on some Audionote J’s too, gutted so if anyone has anything to offer please shout. Also considering Proac’s

Ever since hearing SCIDB’s (I think?!) great set up at Scalford i’ve been on the look out. There are E’s around, but have assumed they would be too much for my 3m x 6m room, firing from against the long wall.
Bloody nightmare this hifi lark, first time in a while I’ve had the money to go for it (and wife semi-approval), there are some amazing amps on the market (Graaf, Leben and Karan on PFM), but can’t make the jump without the right speakers…

I used the Es to good effect in a 5m x 5m room with a audio innovations S500 amp.

the kit Es are great value and will fill a big room for very little money

Had some AN-e’s and they were too much for my 16ft x 12ft room, bass was just too boomy.

Thank you, not sure if there is a thread where I should introduce myself, or even if it’s that formal, but stumbled across the forum and spotted some familiar names from the wam. Seems a bit more relaxed which appeals.

Will probably post a wanted add, but in the mean time will continue to drive myself up the wall searching the net.

I don’t think there are any formalities. New members are expected to snigger at the mods (especially @MGOwner) and not mention the Wam (:worried:). Sign up to the AAAC and laugh at our music choices if you feel so inclined…
