The favoured knotted rope & barnacles is similar. Does it work well wet?

Curious about the London room speakers. What’s in em and how was the bass ?

You mean in the Kondo room?

You what? The Kondo system looks fucking awful, loads of boxes different sizes and finishes, the speakers are just rong aesthetically and the power amps hilarious. But if it’s the same as last year, I guess it sounds adequate.

Predictive text fail. Yes the kondo

Not sure what was in them, ribbon tweeter… I liked the sound, as did most of the rest of us, except @sjs and @PapaLazarou, who hated it! I thought the bass was pretty good…

I think these are they.

From £40k depending on options. Nice cabinet and drivers.

Biggest surprise so far was a company called Aries Cerat. Great sound from one of the very difficult ground floor modules.

Kondo: Ok for a hifi system, really disliked the ribbon tweeter on crescendo and the slightly disconnected nature of the bass, but critically the lack of any musical joy or performance. So it’s a full meh for a Kondo system
Having said that I was even less keen on this system last year

Funny, I was looking at an article about them the other day in Stereophile :nerd:. They are from Cyprus and charge like a wounded bull when it comes to prices:

Symphonia Aries Limited Edition 3-way horn loudspeakers ($125,000/pair) 101dB
Concero 65 SET class-A monoblocks ($35,000/pair)
Impera Signature Edition Mk.II preamp ($82,500)
Kassandra Reference Mk II PCM DAC ($35,000).

Why do you think Kevin hangs on religiously to the “legacy” products?

When faced with a conundrum the correct answer is: All of the above.
