I wonder how aware I was of the reasons for the demonstration, age 6. My own son is pretty much the same age as I was then. My instinct is to protect him from learning about shit like this as long as possible. I don’t know if that’s right or not. He certainly doesn’t see his parents being as active politically in the way that I did.

The fact that we’re a generation on and still having to think about this is tragic really.

I have no idea TBH. My parents cared nought for world affairs. My English teacher at grammar school got me and a few others interested in politics, in jazz as well! He wasn’t a lefty as such but he wanted the yoof to take note of what was going on.
