Notes from a remote island

Neighbours from an uninhabited (yeah, right!) nearby island usually visit on the third Tuesday of each month.

It’s best to stay indoors until their desires have been sated

Is the hifi room finished yet?

You couldn’t catch a Nordic tortoise in that Maestro though.

That was used purely for sleeping in.

Haahaha, no.

Still trying to clear out the tons of junk in there!

Strangely, that particular outbuilding used to be a chapel :flushed:

Are there any weird markings on the stones near the door?

Only those left by the Springers

Mr. MWS has a nose for such things

Did you get much land with the property,if so how strict are they on new builds?

Conservatively about 1/2 acre.

New builds are reasonably well encouraged, providing the design is sympathetic with the surroundings. Timber frame and cladding is the usual path. There is a decent sized plot at the very rear of the property which has good road access, so maybe a project for the future, although it’s not something I’m seriously considering atm.

Can i build a remote getaway in there please?
Sympathetically of course

Only if you intend to build a sympathetic bordello with food drink and a gramophone :+1:

Indeed I do, maybe a stereo gramophone!

I’ve managed to clear the junk from about one third of what remains after the store has been finished.

So, imagine about three times what you see here and that is what I’ve got to work with.

Next I’m going to build an internal “porch” and a new external door and frame to replace the one you see in the first picture. Will start it tomorrow.
