Reel 2 Reel - bottomless pit of faff, expense and hisssssssss

Pity the 24/192 seems to have the lowest dynamic range of the lot. I’m sure I have a decent sounding cd somewhere.

Some vinyl is remastered all analogue, Analogue Productions stuff etc, if it doesn’t specifically say I tend to pass.

That’s interesting. Where does it show that? HDT also offer a 24/96 version.

The CD versions I have sound quite rough & untidy.

See above edit.

The 24/192 Hunky Dory seems to do better. I’ll have to try & see what press my Ziggy LP is.

I think some of the dearer Qobuz subscriptions allow downloading of Hires files at reduced prices.

I keep hearing about this MQA thingy, I must look into it.

I’ve got a rip of the 2003 SACD if you want to try that

Don’t bother. It’s a solution looking for a problem.

^^ This.

Bob Stuart’s not fucking daft, mind. It’s a beautiful exercise in psychoacoustics and placebo as they have different coloured LED that comes on with an “authenticated” signal.

MQA is great.

…for Bob Stuart’s wallet.

I already have tidal, now I get MQA as part of it, win win

I banish thee over to pfm with the other MQA and ethernet cable wankpuffins.

Which is the best sounding Ethernet cable?

One long enough to reach the sockets.

the most expensive and shiny one.

You realise some of these people are probably using whatever spindly horror came with their home hubs, right? :poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:

No wonder they think MQA is a bit ordinaire
