Another sad loss. Probably best known by Joe Public for Silence of the Lambs, but I like him best for his music films. Stop Making Sense was visually stunning, making something new out of the tired old concert movie. In my case though it is the video for New Order’s Perfect Kiss that highlights his talent. Taking time to echo the portraits of the band on the Low Life cover and yet capture them beautifully at the peak of their powers in early 1985 playing the track in one take in their rehearsal rooms.
