Reminds me of that bloke on the wam who bought some new 4 grand speakers, but his wife said they didn’t match the skirting board wood,so he sold them and lost 2 grand.

Sadly the advice he was given didn’t help, and he never returned.

Yeah if she gets sniffy about these then I’ll threaten her with the Einklangs!

Is there a side they don’t have a speaker in?

Rob is right they like Power. We had a pair at my bake off and lots of amps were used with them. They liked the big powerful amps. As Ian said they seem to prefer some space to allow them to do their thing.
The MA-5’s should have enough muscle to wake them up.
They are very wife friendly speakers.
What are you going to use as a source to try them out?
Let us know what you think.

Heard them with CAD kit at Munich a few years ago, I was pretty impressed with the sound they produced in that combo. Was initially skeptical given the form factor.

Dreiklangs surely? Always leave yourself negotiating room! :+1:

But what do you suggest first if the Dreiklang is where you want to end up? Gryphon Kodo perhaps?

:+1: Or some Tannoy or JBL monstrosity…

WE is where its at.

Yes, but you’re talking about something someone might actually want

I have been trying to persuade the wife these will fit in the lounge, not much bigger than the blue speakers darlingggg.

Also thinking Usher D2 clones

Or Vox Olympian clones, or a 30" SEOS horn, or some unity/synergy horns etc

The WE horn lust was driven when I discovered Corian can be bent

Oooh, that is exciting!

Would you laminate thin layers? Or can great fat slabs of it be bent?

I like the look of those. What are they?

Today though, I have been listening to old Kef 103.2s

Heh, those W8’s are a bit good :slightly_smiling_face:

Hurriedly plonked them down, plugged the MA5’s in, and for sheer haste dragged out an Oppo universal player so obvs playing with second class digital media (vinyl will have to wait)… and it still can’t detract from the fact these are very good speakers.

Next test is to introduce my wife to them :grimacing:
