It is a thing. Broadband uses adaptive rate setting based on how stable the line is.

Just tried it and joined the group. Made the mistake of replying to a question on cleaning LPS’s. This meant I got every other reply. A couple of hundred post later I stopped following.

One interesting question went along the lines of “I have just bought a turntable (bad picture) after saving up for a long time. Which cartridge do you recommend?”

I didn’t reply.
