Yawn

I wasn’t impressed. Thin and a bit sour. Maybe I had a rogue bottle.

I’d have described it as full’ish bodied, fruity and pretty smooth and easy drinking.
Guess wine is just like hi-fi - everyone tastes things differently.

Maybe I have just drunk so much red wine over the last 20 years that my tastes buds are shot.

Toro Loco - about £3.50 at Aldi.

A cheeky Spanish red that gets you where you need to go without napalming your tongue.

It’s highly quaffable.

Must be good on the cornflakes for you to post about it at 8:15 in the morning. Drive carefully now!

:innocent:

It’s ok. I’m not from the Isle of Man

This got some great reviews and won awards a year or two back so I tried it and that is a wine I would describe as thin and sour.

It does contain alcohol so I guess it does it’s job for some people.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

£3.50 - excise duty £2.08 = £1.42 worth of alcohol

Less. as you’re not including the cost of the bottle in that either (it’s one of the reasons cheap wine really is so god-damned awful)

Agreed

Bargain.

Toro Loco is better decanted
And the bouquet is much enhanced if you hold your nose. Best enjoyed away from naked flames.

Bloody wine snobs…

Wine is exponentially better due to every bottle having a minimum cost price that takes up a bigger % of cheaper wines.

It’s a fact.

And some cheap wine is ok, but good wine is on another level. Sadly, I’ve found close to twenty quid seems to be the level. And it’s a bit rich for me…

One or two bargains now and again I look out for. Argentinian malbecs. Mainly from majestic.

[Pedant :nerd:]Strictly speaking I think it might be only linearly better with a significant offset, and maybe not even that at the top end.[/Pedant :nerd:]

But I do agree that cheap wine can be hard work (he says, as he’s about to pitch into the Sainsbury’s box Shiraz, yes, really !).
