Nabbed a couple of these tonight from work as they are on offer for £7 - just about to sample it

A couple of bouteilles de Leffe, and now some proper Belgian import Stella, old skool 5.2% stuff. I won’t be wifebeating though, Claire can knock the shit out of me, comes from having 2 brothers and having an awesome right arm from being ace at tennis.

I visited Mt Benson Winery back in the mid 90s. They were still very new and weren’t yet established. I found their take on Cabernet and Cab Merlot to be really interesting. I’ve been a fan since.
Aldi now stock their Chardonnay (labeled as Limestone Coast), which for a much maligned grape, is absolutely stunning. Also their Cab Sav (Limestone Coast). For the price is proper epic.

The Limestone Coast is a strip of land reaching out into the Southern Ocean in S.E. South Australia (about 5 hours drive south of Adelaide) which has the same Terra Rossa soil as the much better known Coonawarra region. The soil and Cab Sav are absolutely stunning partners whether you believe in terroir or not. Arguably some of the best Cab Sav in the world.

Having a glass or two of this before bed…

It’s been a tough week.

Funny you should mention Terry it - I noticed we sell one as well but as I don’t drink white wine I can’t comment on it’s quality

There are a couple of other producers in the area, so I can’t be sure of that one’s provenance but it’s got to be worth a try. For the record I don’t drink Aussie Sauvignon. I’ve yet to find one which has the quality and character of Kiwi varieties.
It appears there is a bulk wine producer exporting wine for bottling overseas. Those M&S ones are bottled in Manchester.

Aldi do a Limestone Coast Chardonnay for about £6 a bottle, it is very, very nice.

Ahem !!! Wife Beater must be getting to you :head_bandage:

Ok. It’s Absolutely Stunning ™ and sorry, Stella is obviously making me blind, so missed your post. :confounded:f

Terry recommended the Limestone Coast Chardonnay to me months ago, and it’s one of the best tips I’ve had. Cheers mate.

Down to the last few generous measures of this

Gonna need an alternative as they fucked with it and made it taste like courvoisier in its current incarnation :cold_sweat:
