I don’t think it has ever had a vinyl release. That must come surely!
Would be amazing.
I’m surprised I didn’t know about it as I have most of their other LPs. Thank fuck it is CD only, because (i) I don’t buy them and (ii) I don’t want to think about how much a limited edition vinyl box set from 2013 would cost now if the CDs are so expensive.
Rather spiffing, I do declare.
Not often into that kind of stuff, but I bought a copy of that in Carnival in Malvern, and it kind of stuck.
Great record that. LP is due out soon.
Enjoying it so far, have been underwhelmed by others of theirs before but this is good. Mood probably has something to do with it…
A lot of their very early stuff is just unrehearsed improvisation that they self-recorded live in a geodesic dome (really a posh shed) using pressure zone microphones so is very lo-fi. John McBain’s handiwork and the use of a proper studio with a decent budget really helps the last couple of releases. They are touring in February and are an vastly different beast live. Well worth seeing.
Don’t play it often, at least 5 years since the last time.
It’s my favourite McLaughlin album. I love the “live in studio” feel.
