Not necessary. I first heard them in 1992. Luckily got to see them play, supported by Tortoise. That was a cracking gig. I kind of stopped following them around 1999/2000. I’m now picking up their less-crazily priced post 2000 vinyl where possible.

Despite continued attempts to enjoy their obviously well received output, I find myself oddly unimpressed. It is a source of constant bewilderment.
Last time I saw them live was during the Margarine Eclipse tour - they were superb then as well. Funnily enough they’re the one band I haven’t bothered with on vinyl all CD - did toy with the idea but better things to spend my money on like booze
