Have you tried any of the Shez Raja Collective albums yet Terry? I’ve a feeling their take on modern fusion/funk Jazz may float yer boat. Some nice electric jazz violin on the subsequent albums to their debut too. Not listened to his latest yet, but the first four are all well worthwhile. Good to have another strong bass player/leader emerging from the UK.
