What I'm watching (Part 1)

Frickin’ BRILLIANT film.

Just like “The Day the Earth Stood Still”, the original is much better than the remake despite the lower quality special effects because they had to concentrate on telling a story.

:+1:

Although I was always annoyed that they chose the female scientist to make the error and not spot the cure. Seemed rather sexist to me; sign of the times perhaps.

Just finished watching it - definitely

And it jarred when the robotic voice addressed all the scientists as “gentlemen”. In a modern drama she would have responded “… and lady”.

As you say - sign of the times.

Started watching Sence 8. Mediocre at best, spiced up with sex as a USP, oh and a dripping strap on.

Another great 70’s film was The China Syndrome, remember watching that as a kid.

That’s all I require from a TV series these days.

Fair point :grinning:

Louis Theroux on Scientology - very lightweight and lacking any insight, pretty weak compared to his better work.

For the 2nd time.

Excellent stuff;

Second viewing. On Amazon video (and free if you have prime).

My 11 year old claims to completely understand Interstellar.

Just enjoyed Dead Snow 2 again on Amazon.

Oh and Goliath is superb.

Interstellar isn’t half as good as it thinks it is.

Well if he/she has managed to sit through a film which is getting on for three hours long that’s an achievement in itself. And I’m liking the film more on second viewing.

Looks very promising.

Interstellar was ok, but it certainly wasn’t that great.
