Yours was easier as it wasn’t lacquered. The AN stuff is a pain in comparison!
Some of the stuff on Gregg’s link may not be without merit done carefully enough.
Thicker gauge magnet wire I usually attack with a blow torch - though I’m guessing Litz wire may give you something like a cartoon bomb fuse…
