The only thing more annoying than a flute is a flute player who specialises in standing on one leg and gurning during the brief intervals between the flute based torture. Mercifully there appears to be no evidence of pan-pipes, which are even more annoying.

Feckin’ brilliant that. There was a box set reissue of a load of their early output on the splendid Cardinal Fuzz label last year. I was ill around the time of the release and it had completely sold out by the time I had escaped the clutches of the NHS. 
This is the closing song to her amazing semi-autobiographical album War Surplus about a girl and a US soldier who comes back from Iraq and suffers PTSD, hits the bottle, becomes a violent partner and generally loses all reason to live - just my kind of thing.
