I reckon that you could take those sharp edges, extrude them an extra 20mm, then fillet them by 10mm for a perfect roundover.

Good Idea - I can easily do inside and outside 5 or 10mm fillets

I can’t extrude from a curved face - but I suspect 10mm off the end only has a small effect on FS?

In Fusion you can’t either, but you can emboss, which achieves exactly this. The joy of 3d modelling is that you can normally do the thing you want to do, you just need to know which function it is!

And the joy of getting old is that you Google something, suss out how to do it, then a week later you need to Google it again…

I have hemeroids, do I need gyroids too?

I have been experimenting further So I’m now printing my third set of IWATA 330 - 49 Bore 20mm wall flares - I have had to scrap four petals but as a result now seem to have identified a cad design method and a 3D slice formula that gives a decent print that is quite simple to assemble. Now I’ve got to glue it all and check out the Celestion Axi drivers that I have stocked.

Just built a black pair of IWATA 330’s using “adaptive layer thickness” Overall finish is much better

More adaptive layer printing thickness on a IWATA 600 flare

It adds 20% to the print time but a step change in finish .
