That was my impression too. Her voice just didn’t seem to fit the material. Laetitia Sadier was a strange choice too, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts…

Had that on order for ages, must go and pick it up from the shop.I have the Bobby Gentry original so am looking forward to it.
I think a few Mercury Rev fans might be suprised if they buy it on autopilot.

Their last few efforts have been less than memorable 
. This is a really strong LP. Shows what they can do with the services of a decent songwriter
