Don’t look at the vinyl prices for the Mark Lanagan ones :grimacing:

They are OK. The ones with Mark Lanagan & Jason Pierce are epic though. Stream them on TIDAL and don’t even think about the LPs as they are all ££stupid.

Pulled this off the rack completely at random on the basis that

a) it’s nearly All Hallows

b) I’d completely forgotten anything about it except it was a random purchase off the back of one song played on 6 music 15 years ago when I was drunk/fucked-up…

Turns out it’s Ryan Gosling’s perma-stalled entry into the annals of rock’n’roll, which feels a mite surreal, 'cos I’d never heard of him back then…

It’s actually Not Shit [E&OE 2x quintuple Jamesons…] - reminds me of Erland & The Carnival, and The Good, The Bad, & The Queen…

Spooktastic, pop-pickers!

From tinternet:

ā€œWhy Don’t You Smile Nowā€ is a cover of a song by The All Night Workers, written by John Cale and Lou Reed while working at Pickwick Records. The song was written before they formed The Velvet Underground, a band with a prominent influence on Pierce. The Spiritualized song ā€œRunā€ incorporates ā€œRun Run Runā€ by TVU.

P.S. I fucking love this song
