Disc 1. Cheers Al @spacehopper
This has really been growing on me since I got the CDs last year. An odd sleeve, but containing superb arrangements and playing of songs and tunes composed or played by the late John Renbourn (Pentangle etc.).
Clive Carroll is a remarkable guitarist and arranger, and is joined by other excellent musicians in this homage to his friend and mentor. He has released the album on his private label and it doesn’t seem to be available on streaming services - it deserves much wider exposure.
Early music to jazz via folk and the middle-east over 2CDs and 32 tracks.
I have half a memory of Combat 18 phoning in a bomb threat before a gig at The Venue in Edinburgh, but on reflection I strongly suspect that that was actually Consolidated.
A lot of the stuff from back then is pretty damned blurry.
