An acquaintance wants to get into jazz but doesn’t know where to start. He asked me to make a playlist for him. I’m hoping this funky, groovy, spiritual mixtape will be like a gateway drug and open his mind.
Before I send it to him, If anyone who is not into jazz and can be arsed listening to 90 minutes of new music could give me some feedback that would be great.

First listen to this after it arrived this morning. Rhino still can’t produce sleeves that aren’t just impossibly tight 
But the SQ off the disc is very nice indeed.

Arrived today, official release tomorrow.
The older members of the band have lost parents recently, so there are some meditations on life in a more serious album than their usual. Good songs, well arranged and played. Great band live, now touring.
I’m doing a themed listening session tonight and Guy @Gyroscope, being the smartarse that he is, guessed right first time but with a one detail wrong.
