Carol Lombard by Jack Albin Sept 1937
Carol Lombard died in a plane crash aged 33 in 1942
Beautiful!
She was married to the King of Hollywood, Clark Gable, at the time of her death. When he died in 1960 he was interred beside her.
I think she and Hedy Lamaar (along with Grace Kelly) are the most classically beautiful women. Eva !
Just to remind folks…
Clark obviously had an eye for a well turned ankle!
(Still from a film they were in together before they were married - No Man Of Her Own)
Ha! Did the same. Used to pass it most days on the bus when I lived in E.Dulwich - remarkably unchanged, unlike almost everything else in the area!
I used to live in Camberwell Grove and went to dog Kennel Hill school just after the war. Played in Ruskin Park by Denmark Hill.
Love that racquet stringing ad.
I string tennis racquets for myself and other club players don’t advertise it though.
If you are serious about tennis there’s a whole world of different racquets and string types and hybrids to be tried.
Apparently the South London Press is still going strong. It’s digital format on Tuesday and Paper on Friday.

Wow! Been thinking about airships recently… what a majestic era that must have been. Something that has largely gone, but must have been a sight to behold, and an amazing mode of travel. I know there are moves to bring them back, which I would love.
https://www.airshipsonline.com is a good source for info on airships if you haven’t found it.
Burn and crash!
Perhaps they will return without hydrogen?
He was serious about driving home for Christmas.
Some amazing old photographs on that site!
Glad you like. Still like looking out for the sheds at Cardington when travelling on the Midland Mainline.
