In the early 90’s I had to deliver an envelope to an insurance company halfway up Centre Point. Once I’d done that I took a lift up to the top floor to see if I’d be able to get a view. As it happened the top floor at that time was completely unused & I was able to wander about the huge, empty, open plan office and enjoy the spectacular views in all directions. Stayed up there for maybe half an hour.
I feel as if I heard people squatted Centre Point for a while but could that be right? Seems unlikely with hindsight. There certainly was the space but there was also security.
the Paramount cocktail bar on the top floor offered fantastic views. In about 2014 a friend got a job there, whilst we still had to book we were never charged the minimum hourly spend per table (which iirc was £50 per table per hour)
