It is owned by a charitable trust which is run by the family. Although his great granddaughter is the most frequent visitor, other members of the family can use it.
I would estimate that it is occupied no more than 8 weeks per year which is such a waste. There is a Polish builder that lives in an annexe in return for carrying out occasional remedial work on the main house.
The interior remains largely unaltered and is quite spectacular.
