Keith Moon & David Bowie playing at Peter Sellers’ 50th birthday party in Los Angeles, 1975. Photo by Terry O’Neill. They were part of an impromptu group of musicians included Bill Wyman (bass), Ronnie Wood (guitar), Joe Cocker (vocals), and Bobby Keys (saxophone), among others.
The musicians named their temporary supergroup “Trading Faces”. According to Bill Wyman, the session was “hopeless” and the group could not get through a single song; police were eventually called due to the noise.

The last time we were there was at the same time as The Beast from the East struck.
It was brisk to say the least.
Lovely few days dipping in and out of pubs and restaurants though.
Even managed some “stubborn” walks along the front.
Back in the days when I worked for BT on payphones I spent a week in Weymouth when they filmed the Cardphone advert, as it had to work according to the ASA rules and regs. I spent a week in London finding out all about them as they hadn’t been fitted anywhere, then went to Weymouth. I was given the title of Technical Director and stayed at a suitable hotel, Very nice
One of our number stopped by our old school boarding house today.
It has been superceded by a modern building elsewhere. Currently being converted into a prep school?
I had a bedstudy here for a year.
You can see where the fire exit has been removed. Handy for sneaking out for a crafty ciggie.
This is the air raid shelter / “arse” that housed speakers, turntable etc. and a load of Dead Kennedys, Spizzenergi etc. singles.
Most people seem to be a bit sad that the desire path worn by 100 years of resentful boys is getting grown over.
