Fucking hell, 25p to see Jim(m)i Hendrix vs 62.5p for The Pretty Things… :scream:

How come Jimmi Hendrix is so cheap ?

He knocks seven bells out of most of the other acts.

Edit: beaten to it.

And I did sums while you were typing!

Fuck !

Says it was from December 66,so guessing Hendrix was pretty unknown

Just speaking to my mum about this club as she knew Billy Walker. Curiously apart from being a promoter he also ran some jacket potato take away gaffs.

Not 100% but the Otis show may have been the one Kenny played at

I presume when they were over, they’d have played a few gigs in London as well as going elsewhere? We’ll have to ask him where it was.

Forrest gate is in the east end so it is possible this was the gig. Mater saw the same show but In Leicester. Neither the stax or Motown tours were sell outs. Strange thinking about it now but some shows only pulled in 100 odd people.

Gary Farr and the T-Bones came from Brighton and his dad was Tommy Farr one time British heavyweight weight Champion.

Factoid

Sun 24th Ram John Holder was quite an interesting chap. Three years after he played the gig above he caught the Funk and released this

People may know him better however as an actor, he featured in a bunch of 60’s / 70’s films culminating in in 89 as Porkpie in the series Desmonds
