The âsweet spotâ matters a good deal less in mono, but still thatâs clearly a shot posed by the photographer who wants to show both the front of the ESL and the fronts of the listeners. Matey with the pipe is turning the volume up in a vain effort to hear anything at all over there. Incidentally the pic has been flipped at some point in its life. The Quad control unit and tuner both have the large knobs on the left.
