Annie Oakley 1860-1926. Annie began trapping at a young age, and shooting and hunting by age eight to support her siblings and her widowed mother. She sold the hunted game for money to locals in Greenville, as well as restaurants and hotels in southern Ohio. Her skill eventually paid off the mortgage on her mother’s farm when Annie was 15

Visited The Petrie Museum on Friday and must admit it’s an eye-opener. Much more a specialist thing but It’s every bit as good and equally dumbfounding as to how they made some the objects.

There’s only a tiny fraction of the collection on show but this, from the Hawara Mummy portraits, blew me away. Shit photo - the real thing is magical.

Beautiful aren’t they, now get yourself off to Luxor the magic is infinite from ancient Egypt right up to the Roman period and all in situ as intended, Luxor temple is a goldmine if you keep your eyes open and look above eye level. You have given me itchy feet again. :airplane:
