The whole Limehouse area has (unsurprisingly) been gentrified a good deal

Yes, I walked along the Limehouse Cut last year and the buildings on the south side, many of which seemed to have been converted into apartments, did not look cheap. As you say, unsurprising, given that you have Canary Wharf pretty much in your back garden.
