Thanks Dave, could be of interest.
The heybrook looks far better in terms of build quality over the lp12
I have two TT2’s I think. I acquired them along with lots of belts, springs, mats etc when the factory closed down. These were never sold, were just stock remaining at Heybrook. I used one for a while with an RB250 then an Alphason Xenon. Need to check whether they’ve both got dust covers. It’s a nice sounding deck. No electronic speed control, you’d move the belt onto a different part of the pulley for 45. (or buy one of the aftermarket motor controllers).
Ill have a look in the store tomorrow & see what there is.
Thanks Guy
I suspect this is over? SL1200 ?? British Japanese.
Not quite. Yes, I did buy a disco deck but I’m also interested in the TT2, so …
You know it makes sense.
No, that makes no sense, not even in my chaotic, muddled up world.
Haters gonna hate,
Yup
I’m back from the festival now, will take some pics tomorrow
Cheers
Interesting that Heybrook had a substantial Aluminium subchassis decades before Linn started fitting one. But there were links. I think Heybrook used to buy their lids from Linn or their lid supplier. Certainly appears to have come from the same tooling. I believe that Heybrook & Linn also bought their very high quality belts from the same Japanese source although the Heybrook one is a little shorter because of where they mount the Phillips motor.
Hadn’t seen a MkII before. Are there any significant differences between it and the more common (?) MkI does anyone know ?
Mostly the changed armboard arrangement I guess. Early decks had some kind of steel space frame subchassis but I think they switched to the aluminium version while it was still the Mk1.
My dads had a welded steel box section sub chassis and a longer arm board with the on /off switch on the right.
His was an early mk1, with a black painted outer platter (I believe due to finishing problems on the aluminium).
That’s the version I’ve seen.
