Lol, this is from the '70s and '80s!
TL;DR version: Honda hate two strokes, but to compete within the 500cc GP bike limit with a four stroke, needed somehow to match the specific output of the two strokes. Meaning revs. Lots of them. Hence short stroke “V8” with four cylinders.
