Best mm cartridge sub £500

The stylus guard is excellent- that’s what makes or breaks naked carts. Same with the Sumiko Songbird that’s here at the moment. The 47 Labs 4723 on the other hand was absolutely fucking terrifying to use.

Now, that, does look interesting.

I think there’s one here you can borrow. I’ll have a look in the boneyard.

I put an IQ3 on a Pioneer PL112D earlier in the bar system. Sounds pretty good.

I really liked the IQ3, but it is quite spendy and the IQ2 wasn’t very far behind it, at all.

As a rather leftfield recommendation, I was going to suggest a London Decca Maroon. Then I saw the price has almost doubled since I bought my Super Gold.
WTF!

I did once have a Goldring 1042 - that’s a nice cart.

So many people say that about the 1042 Phil, but I didn’t find them particularly special.

You may laugh at this suggestion Mike but I’m currently using one of these on a Reloop DJ deck and it sounds great.

Plenty of detail but never feels in your face. I like it. :+1:

You have a Legacy (MC). I just shoved it in a 2500 box for postage purposes.
