The DUP always vote with the gov. on such matters. In that sense it was a billion quid wasted, since the gov probably thought they were entitled to 10 guaranteed votes for any vote.

Don’t they have to bend the knee to the Queen or something? That part of the issue?
They oppose Westminster’s jurisdiction in Northern Ireland, and its oath to the Queen, so they abstain.

On Tuesday about 650 of out elected representatives supported by all their staff voted on a motion the result of which had been reported on Monday.
And on Wednesday, about 650 of out elected representatives supported by all their staff voted on a motion the result of which had been reported on Tuesday.

Also over a 100 tories had no confidence in May a month ago,luckily she took a battering yesterday in the biggest defeat in Parliaments history,so was deemed fit by them today.
She won 52% to 48%
