Burnin' down the house - how do I open this thing?

I have a wall light that has two LED units in it.

One has gone phut, I have a replacement for it.

Opening the light up, the LEDs go into two kind of insulated croc clips. These open up to attach to the main wires that come out of the wall.

So my questions are: what are these clips called? How do I detach the old LED? Just pull the wires out? They seem to be pretty firmly connected. Is the clip assembled around the wires? There’s no obvious point of ingress.

This is the last time I buy anything from this shop - what a palaver.

Thanks in advance.

Replacement LED - you get the idea

I suggest some of these in future, none of this modern nonsense :+1:

Or just set fire to a boat…

They look like quick release jobs, if you squeeze them at one end do the “jaws” open up?

Yes, they open up to accept the mains wiring from the wall.

The problem is how to get the wires from the LEDs out from the other end. It doesn’t look like that end has an easy open / close.

I was hoping that someone might have encountered these things before.

Ah, got you…

Not used them before, but if it were I then my patience would have long been exhausted and some choc blocks and a pair of pliers employed

Yes, I’m beginning to think the same.

Bin off the smart-arse connectors and just gaffer-tape it all back together

My lights are the same, I needed to replace the HF ballast for a fluorescent in a bathroom light and it was a bloody nightmare. Had to cut the wires in the end as they were all crimped into the connectors.
