Chaps trip to Paris - where to stay?

All being well (ha ha) i’m heading to Paris with a few friends in October half term.

So - where to stay ?

We’re all knocking on 50, and mainly wish to wander around chatting shit and shooting street photography (of Parisian totty, naturellement), enjoy a pleasant lunch, glass of wine or 4, more bimbling etc etc.

We’re tossing up between Marais and Saint Germain / Latin Quarter

I used to go to Paris regularly in the late 90’s / 00’s but things have surely changed since then ? (my alcohol tolerance being one of them)

We have always gravitated to The Latin Quarter. Cool, funky, and more relaxed (at the right time of the year) than some parts of Paris.

I stayed at the Marais about 15 years ago. It was a good location. The metro was near and on a decent line.

On the outskirts of Paris.

I was the Bastille side of the Marais which I think location wise and night life wise is preferable.

Thanks for the tips, chaps. The nexus between budget and availability has, as it turns out. turned the choice into a non choice

Latin Quarter it is. Between the park and the pantheon :+1:
