Cheap VW Phaeton – Yes or No? (AKA bought Phatdeo instead 😬)

£1500 is a lot to spend

Yes if that’s the monthly repair bill cost. But he might get lucky and have a trouble-free December, just in time for crimbo.

Phaeton?

Phatone

Nope, not going German again for now.

Been to see a car in Bristol. Nice car and drove well but absolutely no paperwork (not even the manual), one key, the stereo needed a code he didn’t have and he “couldn’t remember if he’d changed the belts on this one or not”. I drove away.

2005 Mondeo Ghia X 3.0 V6 6 speed manual, Absolutely bloody mint.

Bought it from a smashing chap living in a colossal house near Goodwood who owns 45 cars (well, 44 now…).

Pictures tomorrow as it’s dark now…

I had an 03 Ghia X with the 2.5 V6, splendid car.

@cragger will be along any minute.

Good choice. The mk3 mondeo is an excellent drive.

I was hoping for a phatone and the subsequent descent into car induced poverty. :grinning:

What shall we do now ?

Well, there still me and Jim with Porsche induced poverty. I’ve just been skinned for £1300 for a service and it still needs more work. :grimacing:

There is that. Plenty of shits and giggles to come

Was that a main dealer? What did you have done?

The secret is to buy one that’s just had a thorough going over, paid for by the previous owner - at least then, the pain is delayed
