Chickens

After something of a hiatus, we’re back to keeping chickens. Picked up a load of ex-commercial birds yesterday, all in remarkably good condition which is nice. Anyone else keep chickens?

My Mum keeps a couple of chickens in an enclosure at the bottom of my garden.

Guy keeps a very hush hush breed for lemon curd purposes

Yes, we have a couple. Generally keep between 2 and 4 to keep egg production from going out of control.

You’re.

Sam wants chooks, but since it’d be me doing all the graft and I’ve enough on my plate they’re vetoed until she retires.

We already get plenty of eggs from neighbours in any case.

DOH!

I keep blooming doing that, it’s starting to really upset me now.

We have just one and she’s looking extremely shabby atm. Much moulting occurred and new growth hasn’t yet replaced it.

If it’s any motivation, they are quite low maintenance.

Indeed, I’m confident you’re right, however, my so-called-business, HMRC, the house, the gardens, the paddock, the fudgpacas, the cats, the dogs, and not-least, Sam!, are all not low-maintenance…

TL;DR - I’m a lazy cunt :+1:
