Clocks on cocks (Part 1)

I’ve seen the vintage Doxas under £200. Should have bought 'em. It amuses me how incredibly different they are from the divers they’re known for nowadays.

One for Oz

German black forest prog clock, it has flutes and everything. Same tune for two hundred years…

I hate you. A. Lot.

Does it use an 11/7 beat which changes randomly to something whacky like 17/4 to keep time?

Danny Carey clock?

TK Maxx have some decent Wenger quartz chronos in, from £99 from £290.
Out of the same stable as Victorinox, and with some decent features like sapphire faced glass crystals (can stand more abuse than Sapphire alone).
Same price for the stainless steel bracelet/blue face; £10 more for black dial + rubber. £79 for the 3-handers.

Change of hour, so I figured I’d get out a different watch.

This hasn’t seen the light of day in years. The strap is really dry, and fits on a different hole to where it used to.

Quite like that

I have a pot of leather balm with about a third left which you would be welcome to.
It would certainly sort out the strap, although if you have some Saphir renovator that would do the job.

Thank you very much.

I’ve literally just been into the garage and fished out a pot of this

The height of decadence and superfluity to have so many watches you don’t need to faff around adjusting them, just get out another one.
(I did the same :grinning:)

If your wrist got thinner, put the watch back.
If your wrist got thicker, wear the watch until the previous hole fits.

No other weight watch needed.

That is jolly nice.

I am growing increasingly interested in the confusing world of Panerais.

This won’t end cheaply…

There’s a brutal simplicity about Panerai that I love.

Something like that.

They have a 38mm range nowadays, too.

Yeah and that’s gorgeous but around £5-6k if I remember correctly.

I have found a cheap mahoosive diver that I’m in the process of convincing myself is ok due to being relatively thin lol.

Man I really love that Panerai case shape.

It’s all about dat huge fascist buckle.

This one is actually third party, but the principle stands.

There’s one on C24 for £4k, but there’s no such thing as a cheap Panerai. I’m seriously considering going down the repro road to see how they wear, as they do look very bulky, and I don’t want to risk an expensive mistake…
