Saw this in a watch repair place in Brizzle …it’s sort of chilling to look at …hard to explain.
Steampunk espresso anyone?
Goblin teasmaid …
Anyone tried this firm?
Shame about the NATO but the watch looks great!
Love that.
I know this guy personally, he’s UK based, the watches are cheaper and better, and there’s no sketchy fake Seiko branding:
Given my proclivities for Cold War detritus, the ‘new’ Sinn 156.1 is a bit of me. There’s a limited edition one in ‘pretend old’ finish that comes with both bracelet and strap;
I actually find myself preferring the ‘normal’ unaged one on a strap;
This is partly because I would still like an actual Heuer Bund which is aged on account of being actually old and partly because things I wear tend to wind up looking quite distressed of their own accord soon enough.
Strap, no fauxtina for me plz
That’s really nice.
I like the aged one on the strap - the larger date window really balances the dial for me
Love a centre minutes chrono
There are few Rolex’s I like but that’s one of them - very clean dial and I like the moonphase.
6062
Last made in 1953
That one is in a steel case they also did the gold etc.
That one sold at Phillips in Geneva for 2,117,000 CHF
I think that is just under £1.9M
Triple-date + moonphase + small-seconds : I’d ignore the coronet for that.
Probably 34mm at most mind…
Thought you were a moonphase-hater tho’?
…which would actually be daft with your background in yachting.
More that I didn’t have much knowledge of what Rolex were doing before they went down the Sub and Pro watch route
If that didn’t have a coronet and Rolex on the dial I would have said Vacheron & Constantin
I am not a massive fan of moon phase especially when they clutter the dial, but that is nicely proportioned
36mm case I believe
Yep, or indeed Universal Geneve, or Omega, or Leonidas, or JLC, or Monard, or Breitling, or Patek… Watches were much more conformist in the '50s.
There are other Rolex refs that are very similar and a lot ‘cheaper’, fwliw.
Not seen one in the flesh but I like this
I expect opinions will vary on the ‘fautina’ but an update with modern movement etc is part of Omega’s way.
I would like to see one but shaping the crystal to look like a hesalite looks OK.
Or of course it could be construed as them milking the last possible drop out of the space connection
