Pfff amateur hour. DHGate is for your true gambling bargain hunter. It’s the Mos Eisley of Far Eastern purveyors of dubious quality knock off tat.
Not a big Patek fan generally but I like this…
This is one of the few contemporary models from them I like (love the mechanism behind the horizontal day/date window strip) - but an amazing haircut on the price - is about £113k new - over £30k drop after a year… To be honest, it’s probably a bit overpriced/understated for those wanting to spend over £100k on a Patek.
I didn’t buy that Seiko diver in the end. I have an old Seiko titanium chronograph that serves as a daily beater. I love it but it’s old fashioned and too small for me.
I’d really love to find a Titanium diver, if such a thing exists, but I’m buggered if I can find anything. Anyone have any ideas?
Musts:
Greater than 40mm
<£1000
Big strap/bracelet.
Titanium. Or other lightweight material.
Some form of Oris maybe? The Ti and under a grand might be the hard bit.
I think the Seiko Shogun was Ti.
There’s loads out there, of which the nicest that may slip into your price bracket are Oris’s ‘Meistertaucher’ models, though Citizen, Edox and Hamilton also make affordable Ti divers.
This parametric search result should at least show you what’s out there - almost all outside the UK, but ebay will probably have more.
I’d also look at Luminox and Traser’s many and various watches - they make a great many affordable lightweight carbon-cased watches in large sizes, albeit chiefly quartz (ideal for a daily imo, YMMV).
Tudor Pelagos.
Ahhh. Saw the price factor !
Great choice.
Plenty of original versions on eBay if you don’t mind importing from Japan.
@Mrs_Maureen_OPinion you are indeed on your own with the orca thing.
This looks great though. I wonder if it has all the links for the bracelet. And what import costs might be.
This one in gbp looks a better option

Anything here?

I’ve been really impressed with the quality of Steinhart watches. There’s a couple of Ti watches in the range….
This is less chunky, less Maureen orange highlights, Steinhart Ocean One Titanium 500 Premium
Looks like I can get a brand new Certina for £629. That’s got to be the best result out there.
Thanks Greg for the link.
Thanks all
You won’t be disappointed with Certina - sister brand to Omega among many others. I’ve owned one of their divers, and the quality was absolutely excellent - still the best bracelet of any watch I’ve owned: as good as the one that came with my sodding Omega! Enjoy!
