For reasons that are boring AF/others could explain better - a concentrated impact from a slightly softer substance (quartz usually) can still mar a sapphire watch crystal, though it’s more likely the anti-reflective coating that’s damaged.
Anyway, the small-seconds Portugieser is much nicer
Just a heads up. Ebay are running a 15% off promotion on many of it’s watch Buy Now prices for the next couple of days. Makes some things very attractive. So I now have an IWC Portofino. I’m loving the bracelet on this. Hopefully @Gyroscope will approve
Now will someone please buy some of my kit in the classifieds.
So I want to clean some of my straps / bracelets with an ultrasonic bath, a few have deployants that will also need a clean. I’m guessing I should oil the joints after doing so. What sort of oil should I use?
The tolerances are designed for this, when you add oil you just keep dirt and dust in the moveable joints which ends up acting like a cutting paste wearing the joints.
Did a bit of tyre kicking in a large department store in Knightsbridge.
The Lange 1815 manual wind in WG was very nice and legible with the blued hands. But sorry lads, when the simplest thing you make is north of £30k we have a problem.
I really liked the Tudor 39mm Ranger on the hybrid strap. Is it wrong that it’s so “cheap”? It didn’t feel cheap - I even liked the clasp.
From what I have read the 8 day is regarded as at the top end of Panerai movements and quality but tbh Guy you probably know more about Panerai than anyone else on here.
