Cocks on clocks (Part the Sekonda)

I am considering getting the sapphire replaced in my IWC Portofino. It has some marks but they might polish out but would want it done by a professional. Anyone got any recommendations for where I could get this done. An indy is fine.

@Gyroscope ?

Not really, sorry mate.

After the fiasco of my Mark XII I’m not sure I’d tell you to take it to a boutique or AD.

Somebody really, REALLY wanted one of those in 2023.

There are some markets, like Patek, that rapidly lead me to conclude that some people have more money than they know what to do with.

Considering that few people smoke these days, there is a huge market for quality lighters.
Sold many a Dunhill in a previous job.
In fact ebay was a godsend as health charities and hospices didn’t (and still don’t) sell smoking paraphernalia in their shops

I sold my Dunhill Rollagas on eBay. At a profit IIRC.

Belgian friends bought eachother his and hers S.T. Dupont lighters which are muy spendy. Looking at it with UK-based eyes it already felt a bit weird.

I haven’t smoked a cigarette in over twenty years and I have little need to set things alight. Despite both of these things, I would still bloody love a Dunhill lighter.

NEVER rule out needing to set things alight unexpectedly

£1400

I know but a nice bit off innovation none the less.

Now non-limited in steel.

I like/prefer the strap version.

Not for me but certainly different.

I like this. I suspect I’ll like it even more after three or so years of traditional Bremont vertical depreciation.

Set yourself a calendar reminder :+1:

I want this one first.

Bremont mystify me.
They make some really nice stuff, like the one you posted and the one Pete has, which is lovely in the metal.

Then they do stuff like this

To be fair to Bremont; almost every major watch brand has a line of products that you assume were designed after a long pub lunch. Where Bremont differs slightly is that they are scattered across multiple lines like pebbledashed shit on a toilet bowl.

It’s hard to image how that ever came to fruition however my S300 has really become a favourite of mine lately and gets a lot of wrist time.

80s bling

Just a slightly problematic, if unsurprising, price.
