Out of the four samples from Skylark I loved this one:

I think I’ll order another bag for November.

A bag per month? How do you sleep?!

Haha, I have the feeling you’re on about a kg per month!

That last one was a smaller sample bag as well.

Yeah, around a kilo. Kerri drinks ⅓ of that, though.

Yes! I knew I’d had another one in between. That was the last one I had from them. Amazing. In fact I’m going to order some now.

I got a kg as it was so lush and totally worth it.

I noticed after ordering that Skylark also do these:

@Wayward - might be of interest.

Fresh Gustatory delivery from Royal Mail, so now sorted:

Also just tried that lower temp final pour tweak. Good stuff :ok_hand:

Has anyone done anything with RO water? I’ve just noticed that a spotless water outlet has just opened really near to me, so I could pick up zero TDS water any time.

I could either mix this with filtered tap water or add some mineral salts. Not sure where to get the latter from though…

Homebrew supplies.

You could make sole water with some quality sea salt (Celtic or Baja Gold). It’s straightforward to make.

???

burtonised coffee

I have enough reward points accumulated to pay for this - should I?

Have you had Geisha before?

Solo dripper update:

Really liking the flat bottom pour over taste. I have tried a few different methods fast flow, two pours, 40:60, different temps and some others.

I have settled back on 40:60 with 80degree water on the last 60. Total draw down time of around 2m:30s.

With the paper leaving it concertinaed or flattening it out, flattening the paper out is worth the extra few seconds and gives a fuller flavour.

I hadn’t got rid of my V60 or the papers but haven’t used it for weeks now and will have probably give it to someone at work to get rid as can’t see going back now.

General benefits seems to be more complex flavour, longer lasting mouth feel and flavour in the mouth. Plus it seems to draw out the most from the beans.

Only minor negatives, I can’t put it over my work flask as it creates an air seal and stops it drawing down. Plus the papers are a bit more expensive.

Now I have the want for a better grinder

Once or twice. Would probably prefer if this came in a smaller bag like geisha usually does, because it would just be me drinking it since my wife has her coffee with milk
