What a great Test Match and what a great victory!

Wouldnā€™t have given tuppence for our chances at the close on day 2. This England side donā€™t know when theyā€™re beat!

Never in doubt.

Great debut from Hartley. Now Iā€™ve seen him find a rhythm, I get the pick. Quite pacy, with loop and drift and a proper handful on that surface.

Edit: and looking at the replays, excellent in earning those stumpings at the end. In both cases he saw the batsman coming and shortened his length.

Pope plays one of the great innings in India and doesnā€™t get MOTM, he must be gutted. They gave it to Hartley, canā€™t complain at that, it was always going to be a tight call.

Leach and Jadeja both look crocked so I expect Bashir and Yadav will probably replace them. Jimmy could well replace Mark Wood. Just 5 days to wait!

edit, Pope did get it after all!

His batting was very impressive, looks a great addition. Still canā€™t believe we won but glad I got up about 4-30 to watch it.

It maybe because its an oveseas tour, but usually in this thread, thereā€™d be more people raving about this win. I think this side have made the miraculous so commonplace, weā€™ve all become desensitised!

190 run deficit on first innings, to winning by 28 runs! In India. Just WTF?! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

This team repeatedly fuck up an entire innings (or two!) But then come back and play with such irresistible verve, that it doesnā€™t matter. They were bloody brilliant today, you could tell by their body language, they were so up for it!

I loved Stokes post match interview with Eoin Morgan when he said, something along the lines ofā€¦ ā€™ most of the time weā€™re trying to concentrate on process, so we donā€™t get emotionally dependent on the result.ā€™ He was so matter of fact!

Fuckin 'ell, Thereā€™s a lesson for all of us there. :raised_hands: :grinning:

ā€œWeā€™ve had a lot of fantastic moments as a team, great wins,ā€ Stokes said.

ā€œBut given where we are, and who we are playing, I think itā€™s our greatest triumph since I have been captain.ā€

Also

"But the way we responded to being so far behind, it was testament to everything we have said and lived and breathed over the last two years.

Lots of people saying they werenā€™t playing Bazball, cos that is scoring at 7 rpo and hitting every other ball out of the ground. It isnā€™t, itā€™s a state of mind, a process and the freedom given to every player to play their best game.

Itā€™s wonderful to watch. Todayā€™s win was up there with any Iā€™ve ever seen, anywhere.

Heā€™s the best skipper England have had in my lifetime, imv. (Boring, i know. I say the same things 9ver and over. :hugs:)

Heā€™s a brilliant player but also, so supportive of the guys playing with him. Then there is his tactical risk taking, that somehow, mostly, pretty much comes right. One pace bowler and a bunch of spinners, indeed! Looked mad at the time but not so much now :upside_down_face:

Lawd knows what happens next in this series!
