How about some Sigmar Polke agate style windows

A house up the road from me has a large Mondrian thing going on at the second floor. I will completely forget to take a photo next time I pass it.

If anyone does do this, please have the dignity to use undyed agate - the blues, greens and bright reds are all artificially dyed and thus crass, vulgar and tacky.

Ok Dad :grinning:

Free to view until tomorrow.

I think I saw it on BBC 3?

The soundtrack is Eno (obvs :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: )

No autobox thing :face_with_monocle:

It’s a good (IMO) documentary about Dieter Rams.

About half way through trying to organise my records and tapes onto the Ladderax. Hel has come around and likes it now :+1:

I was given to understand this was one of the originals from 2005 and not a later re-issue

Is that code for it might be a later issue but I’m going to see if I can get top dollar for it any way.

Lovely chair.

I sold my dark brown leather 60’s bentwood armchair today and replaced it with this unusual 1950’s recliner that has been freshly re-upholstered in teal. For some reason the phone camera can’t capture the colour properly and is making it look electric blue which it is not.

The seller is local and has another one available but she didn’t offer me a great deal if I were to trade in my chair and footstool, below, against the pair. In the end, I just bought the one for cash today with a view to testing it for comfort before commiting to the second. I’m sure I could get significantly more selling my chair and footstool on gumtree than she was offering. Decisions, decisions.

Why not get the armchair and footstool upholstered in matching fabric ?

I feel the wood goes better in that room than the metal does.

I have no eye for design mind.

But when I look at the new chair I want to sit in it.

That’s an idea but I think it would be a lot less hassle just to buy the matching armchair. Also one of the reasons I’m thinking of selling the swivel chair is because it’s very 60’s in style whereas most of my furniture is from the 1950’s although some of the occasional tables are later. I may change them out too at some time in the future. It is a work in progress.

I think you perhaps have more of an eye than you think. You’ve actually hit the nail on the head. The new chair has the same 1950’s legs as most of my furniture whereas the legs of the swivel chair and stool are more modern and date from the 60’s.
